Margaret Cho – Gay Men Jokes

About the Gay Community
However, the increase in the popularity of the internet and new laws allowing for civil partnerships and gay families may be changing this. With a rise in gay orientated facilities like gay saunas, gay clubs and even gay bars, communities are perhaps reforming. Equally, a rise in the number of socially interactive sites aimed at gay people creates a type of community, allowing them to keep up with gay scene etc.
The London Gay Scene
The London gay and lesbian scene has been developed massively over recent years, with homophobic attitudes slowly fading. The gay scene within London is very famous, and is often referred to as a community with gay restaurants, gay bars, gay clubs, gay cafes and even gay only accountants and health clubs.
Situated right at the heart of London’s gay scene is Soho. You simply cannot miss it, lit up like Christmas year in year out, Soho offers a range of gay orientated sites, including bars, sex shops and much more.
In relation, London’s pride festival is held annually, displaying over 300 exhibitions, film screenings, sporting events, concerts, theatre, comedy, cabaret, and a host of parties.
Equally, the internet is delivering an acceleration effect for the gay scene, with easier and fast communication, and a host of socially interactive sites aimed specifically at gay communities, enabling fast organization of large-scale events and so on.
Gay Community Groups
There are a large number of gay community groups worldwide, offering a host of support and advice. Examples include societies for the support of the parents of gay children, and perhaps more commonly, groups offering support for gay men suffering with the HIV virus.
In relation, the UK Lesbian and Gay Immigration Group is no exception. Formerly known as the Stonewall Immigration group, this society is essentially a charity, providing information and advice on the immigration rights of same sex couples. In addition, the group also offers a host of support for lesbian and gay asylum seekers.
The group was established in 1993, as the Stonewall Immigration group, at a time when there had been nothing in the way of provision in UK immigration rules, allowing those from overseas to live in the UK with their same sex partner. In relation there was very little in the way of provision for those looking to seek asylum in the UK on the grounds of feared persecution in their own country, for their choice of sexual orientation.
The service based in London, aims to provide assistance via telephone hotlines, meetings and email correspondences. The groups currently funded by membership only
The group was in fact formed by accident, as four disparate, same sex couples, had contacted the Stonewall group, in relation to their failed applications, for residence in the UK. Stonewall recommended they all meet, alongside their personal lawyers. After initial discussions and a realisation that the issue must be addressed, the support group was spawned.

Help answer the question about gays
Does a Gay person have to become President before Gays are fully accepted into Society?I think what Barack Obama did for Blacks, a Gay Man would do for gays if he became president. MLK said himself he didn't think Blacks would be fully accepted as equals until Blacks held major positions of power, and the same would make sense for gays.
